Privacy Policy

FreshFarm (“FreshFarm,” “we,” “us”) connects people who grow food with people who eat it. We take the privacy of both sides seriously. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you create an account, place an order, or list a stand, we collect the details you provide — name, email, password, delivery or pickup address, phone number, and (for farmers) stand name, location, and payout details.

Information collected automatically. We log basic technical information about your visits: device type, browser, IP address, pages viewed, and timestamps. We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to understand how the service is being used.

Payment information. Card details are collected and processed by our payment processor, Stripe. FreshFarm never sees or stores your full card number.

How we use your information

  • To create and manage your account.
  • To process orders, coordinate pickup, and pay farmers out.
  • To send order receipts, status updates, and notifications.
  • To keep FreshFarm running, secure, and free of fraud and abuse.
  • To improve the service — what's working, what's not, which features to build next.
  • To comply with the law when we're required to.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only in a few specific cases:

  • Farmers you order from. When you place an order, the farmer receives the details they need to fulfill it — your name, items, pickup window, and contact information.
  • Service providers. Stripe (payments), Firebase (authentication and data storage), and email delivery providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms.
  • Legal obligations. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users and the service.

Your choices

You can, at any time:

  • Review and edit your account details from your Account page.
  • Request a copy of the data we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it.
  • Delete your account directly from the Account page. This removes your profile, saved addresses, and notification history. We may retain a minimal record of past orders for accounting and legal purposes.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and comply with our legal obligations. Order records may be retained for up to seven years for tax and accounting reasons.

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards — encrypted connections, hashed passwords, limited employee access — to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to treat your information with care.

Children

FreshFarm is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the “Last updated” date at the top and, for material changes, notify you through the service or by email.
